Insta Friday

I've kind of fallen off the wagon (so to speak) the last couple weeks when it comes to InstaFriday....but I'm back today with a glimpse into our life from the last couple of weeks.
Thanks InstaGram for helping me keep track of our daily events ;)

This was a couple Saturdays ago at our church's neighborhood cookout.
Baby man got his face painted and ended up with facial hair...just like Papa's!

Little friends.
Love these two little ladies.

Peach cupcakes with brown sugar cream cheese icing I made for
my friend's baby shower.
Let me just say...baking with both dairy and gluten was SO much fun! Just makes life a little easier and I enjoyed every second.

Faith and family night at Appalachian Power Park!
It was a rainy day but we still ended up being able to watch some baseball.

Just chillin' in the back yard.

E was able to attend a free kid's yoga class this week.
Can you tell she's in love?!?

Thanks Chick-Fil-A for a fun night!
We enjoyed dinner and a carriage ride at fairy tale night.

So, we didn't do official preschool this year, but some friends and I got our kiddos together and did a simple preschool class. We will do it twice a month. The kids loved it and I think the moms had fun too. This is E's "first day of school" picture. She was SO excited!

and  this is E modeling this coming seasons latest trends.
Do you have your tiara and rain boots ready for fall? You'll need them to be in style around here!

And yes...its that time of year again.
The time of year when my whole family wears kelly green on Fridays...and Saturdays.
When you can hear my girl screaming "Go Herd!" at the top of her lungs and my baby man throwing his arms up saying, "Touchdown!".
Its football season.
Prepare to see a lot of green and white if you're following me on InstaGram ;)

What a week!
I'm so thankful that it is Friday. We've had such a busy, exciting, fun, exhausting week!

The week began with Hub's elders retreat (all day meetings on Monday) and my dear friend giving birth to a sweet baby girl! From there, the week continued in joyful, exciting, and exhausting fashion. I feel like my emotions have been running high all week...births tend to do that for me. I go back to those first moments with my littles and realize how quickly time has gone, how much I miss those moments, and how thankful I am that they are growing and changing every day. Does that even make sense? How can you feel all those things at once? I don't really know which is part of why I've felt a little crazy all week. But, I love birth! Ever since having Little E I have dreamt of becoming a doula and helping women have the joyous birth they want. I don't think I'd ever get tired of watching a grand display of God's creative design in the labor and delivery process. Anyway...I think that's a whole different post.

All of that to say, I'm ready for the weekend and *hopefully* some slow time.

Here's a little glimpse of my week through the lens of my phone.

This is how we spent last Friday afternoon. It was beautiful and not too hot. Perfect day to play in the backyard.
Latest update on my couch recover.
I got the piping and box pleated skirt on! I haven't made it any further since this picture on Saturday. Its coming but very slowly.

Each person in our family has his/her own Nalgene...and we aren't even that crunchy.
We definitely don't climb rocks or go camping.
We just like the bottles and the guarantee on them :)

Practicing ballet!
She's so excited to start again in September.
And that bun on the side? Yep. She insisted on it.

Just chillin' on the porch.

That push pop she has in these pictures? She was SO excited about it!
She has been wanting to try one but we haven't been able to find one the last few times at Kroger. Target came through for us (per usual) and she's been enjoying that thing for a few days now.

While my friend was in labor, her firstborn came to play with us. We had so much fun!
These girls got to be such a huge mess while painting that they ended up in the bath tub!

This is what I'm dealing with these days.
G-man started walking (just a couple steps at a time) this week, but before that, he's been climbing on everything! I had turned to put something in the oven and turned around to find this. What?!? I'm not ready for this!

Slumber Party!
These two were so cute! They were so excited to be with each other and E has asked almost every day this week if they can play together. I love that they love each other.

So, that about sums it up!
After a week full of plans (both expected and unexpected) we have nothing planned today.
I need to do a few things and I'd love to work on my couch, but we'll see. Sewing is hard with little kids around. Not sure how some of you mommas out there do it regularly with littles.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday!
Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Insta Friday

Here's a sneak peek into our lives this week!!

Happy Insta Friday!
my little bunny, all ready to go with Papa on a little weekend excursion!
(She had her face painted at our church's neighborhood cookout)
(The Hubs preached at my Uncle's church in Louisville, KY so he took E with him...they had a blast!)

trip to Target...we found this!
didn't buy it, just took a pic for Hubs

While Hubs and E were gone, I had a sick little guy.
Actually, I'm pretty sure it was just teething, but he was grouchy, snotty,
and fevery on Sunday. So, we skipped church and spent our day like this.

my latest project.
fitted slipcover for the couch.
Its coming along, but at this rate I won't be done with it until Christmas!
Ok...exaggerating maybe...but its a slow process.

E woke up asking for pancakes on Wednesday morning...
so that's what we had!
G ate 4 by himself! Growing boy, I guess.

We have had some nice chilly days lately.
I think it was about 65* here and E is wearing her fleece zip-up.
Nice change from hot and humid....but I'm not ready to give up summer quite yet.

Yesterday she came to me and said,
"Momma! I'm wearing Samantha's robe. Take my picture and send it to Aunt B!"
She put on her American girl doll's robe...and other than being too short, it kind of fit

Not sure what today or this weekend hold for us, but we need some downtime as a family.
Hoping to get some more work done on the slip cover and spend some fun time relaxing!
I love weekends with my little family, and I'm sure this one will be no exception!
