Are you a baseball fan? Charleston's got you covered!
(photos from WV Power website)
The West Virginia Power baseball team has its home in the heart of Charleston.
We typically attend one or two games each season. I'm not a huge baseball fan, but Hubs is and the kiddos always have a good time (except for opening day last year when it poured rain the entire game...yeah that wasn't really much fun).
Tickets are reasonably priced ($7 on game day/ $5 advance purchase) so you don't spend a fortune taking your family out for an evening of fun.
So, actually you may spend more than you originally plan if you purchase snacks or drinks at the game, but that's part of the fun of a baseball game, right?!?
Like E's hat there? It probably cost more than her ticket,
but contained Dip'N'Dots that she thoroughly enjoyed...
and G-man did too (see the spoon?).
WV Power game doesn't end with the end of the 9th inning. On Fridays during the season, each home game ends with a fireworks show! Our kiddos rarely make it that far into the evening, but we can hear them and see the tops of them from our balcony.
When it is not baseball season, the Appalachian Power Park holds other events from Genesis 5K Training program to Trick-or-Treat at the park to concerts and chili cook-offs!
Power Park is another one of the little gems of Charleston.
Did you know this is {day 3} in a 31 day series?!?
I'm linking up with The Nester and others in the Write31Days challenge!
Go check out the other blogs and check back here tomorrow for another "day in a small city"
